Bret Schneider, Psy.D., L.P.

Dr. Bret Schneider is an independent contractor and is the owner of Mental Health Solutions. Dr. Schneider is trained as a Clinical Psychologist and is a Licensed Psychologist. He specializes in psychological assessment and psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and families.  He brings a caring, compassionate, and empowering approach to the therapeutic process; whether it is by improving one’s quality of life by reducing suffering, or by helping individuals identify and leverage their ability to maximize their outcomes and achieve their goals.  

Dr. Schneider earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology.  He brings a diversified training experience to his practice, having worked/trained at a variety of settings including community mental health, Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, primary care clinics, and private practice.  In addition, Dr. Schneider is formally trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through the Marsha Linehan Institute. 

Dr. Schneider works with individuals and families to assess what issues need to be addressed and provide specific steps to move one’s life forward.  His emphasis is in: Trauma and PTSD; ADHD and Learning Disorders; emotional and behavioral disruption; anger, opposition, and impulse disorders; Borderline and other Personality Disorders; and transition/life changes.  In addition, as a Military Veteran of over 13 years, he is attuned to the unique experiences, difficulties, and struggles that affect this population and their loved ones.

Joy Fairbanks, Ph.D., LP

Dr. Fairbanks is an independent contractor (www.joyfairbanksphd.net) and is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides assessment and intervention services to children and adolescents. Common referrals for intervention and/or assessment include adjustment disorders, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delay, learning disabilities, ADHD, oppositional behaviors, anger and aggression, and anxiety. A clinical emphasis of Dr. Fairbanks is providing intensive behavioral therapy through an active coaching model, referred to as Parent Child Interaction Therapy. PCIT has been found to be effective for children between the ages of two and seven with emotional and behavior disorders. In addition to being a certified PCIT therapist, she also provides behavioral therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Dr. Fairbanks received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN; her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from North Dakota State University; and her doctorate in Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology from Purdue University (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Campus) with a cognate emphasis in Clinical Neuropsychology. She was also employed as a research therapist at the Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center and participated as a team member on a CDC funded grant called Helping Answer Needs by Developing Specialists (HANDS) in Autism. Her predoctoral residency was in the Department of Health Psychology at the University of Missouri (part of the Missouri Health Sciences Consortium) with a focus on rehabilitation and pediatric neuropsychology. Finally, she completed her two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where she actively participated in the Dana Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program, psychological assessment lab, intervention-focused rotations, and research with faculty that resulted in publication in a peer-review journal. Dr. Fairbanks is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Psychological Association. She is also licensed by the Minnesota Board of Psychology.

Georgia Banks, M.S.W., LICSW

Georgia is an independent contractor (https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgia-banks-0bb72210a/). She admires the strength and bravery it takes to seek out help. Georgia is honored every day to be a part of her clients’ journeys. While therapy can be enjoyable and rewarding, it is also a lot of work. She strives to create a space that is warm and inviting, and has a counseling style that is compassionate, engaging, and non-judgemental.

Georgia earned her master’s degree in clinical social work and is a licensed therapist who has been working in the mental health field for over twenty years. She provides evidence-based treatments that research has shown to be very effective and are well-liked by clients.

Specializing in individual and family therapy, Georgia enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of concerns, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, grief and loss, life transitions, interpersonal problems, intimate partner violence, body image issues, and eating disorders. She also does bariatric assessments and therapy for clients considering or preparing for bariatric surgery.

Georgia has extensive training and consultation from the developers of both CBT-E (Cognitive Behavior Therapy - Enhanced for Eating Disorders) for adolescents and adults, and FBT (Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders) for children and adolescents. She also has additional training and experience using CBT, ACT, the UP for mood disorders, mindfulness-based therapy, motivational interviewing, brief solution-focused treatment, and supportive therapy.
